Spring Break activities at area libraries... and they are FREE!

Blossoms, butterflies and Spring Break! This is my absolute favorite time of the year! A whole week without homework, relaxed bedtimes and comfortable weather. While much of our time is going to be spent outside, there are fun activities happening at area libraries for school aged children during Spring Break, too!
Saturday, March 9th
Waxahachie Nicholas P. Sims Library 9:30-2:30pm Grand Reopening Event Undoubtedly the most beautiful library in the area, the 108 year old library, built in the classical renaissance style, will reopen after 4 months of remodeling! Storytime, scavenger hunts and special guest will delight children!
Sunday, March 10th
Grand Prairie Warmack Branch Library 3-4pm Writing for Kids from the Heart of Texas Join four Texas teen and tween authors as they discuss books, writing, blogs and more! All ages welcome. Books for sale after the event.
Monday 11th
Grand Prairie Warmack Branch Library 4-5pm Teen Craft Club Celebrate National Craft Month each Monday in March.
Grand Prairie Bowles Branch Library 6:30 -7pm Family Story Time
Fort Worth Northwest Branch 10-noon Spring Break Gaming and Crafts all ages
Fort Worth Northwest Branch 2-4pm Fire Trucks All ages are welcome to come watch the movie Adventures with Fire Fighting, then enjoy a visit from the Fort Worth Fire Department and see a fire truck.
Tuesday 12th
Arlington Central Library 3:30-5pm Movie Poster Marvels For kids in 7th – 12th grade. Learn how to use photoshop to make someone appear to throw a ball of energy! Pre-registration required.
Arlington Central Library 6:30-7:30pm Family Storytime
Grand Prairie Main Library 4-5pm Spring Reading Club Kid's Kraft Come to the library to make a butterfly memo holder and sign up for the Spring Reading Club. Get a goody bag of book recommendations and more. Read 10 books during March to be entered into a prize drawing.
Grand Prairie Warmack Branch Library 4-5pm Tween Craft Club Celebrate National Craft Month each Tuesday in March making a craft.
Grand Prairie Bowles Branch Library 6:30-8:30 Teen Movie Night

Grand Prairie Main Library 2-2:45pm American Heroines Kids Storyteller Elizabeth Ellis presents her tales of American heroines in a free program for kids.
