Need a budget friendly family movie night?

Mar 20, 2013 01:20PM ● Published by Michelle Ames

Our family rarely goes to see movies.  With five of us, it's hard to include movies in our recreation budget.  However, a friend of mine recently let me in on her family's secret, Half Price Tuesdays at Hollywood Theatre in Burleson!

She told me just in time for our family to visit during Spring Break to go see Oz, the Great and Powerful.  My kids had been begging to see it.  I was excited that the discount applied to ALL movies, even new ones!  Unlike traditional matinees, we weren't limited to the time we went on Tuesday, which meant my husband would be able to go with us.  We choose to go to the 9:55pm movie because, as I explained to the kids, it was Spring Break and we could.

To make our savings even sweeter, if you visit their website and become a Hollywood Insider, which amounts to giving them your email address, you get a FREE medium popcorn coupon!

Our family had a great night out!  We let each of our kids invite a friend, and with the popcorn coupon we saved $31.50!  I was even able to convince my sweet hubby that I deserved a date night the following evening for being so budget conscience!

Hollywood Theatre is located at 301 W. Rendon-Crowley Rd in Burleson, facing the I-35 Frontage Rd.  The entrance is on Rendon-Crowley.

When not pinching pennies, I can be found writing at Having Fun in the Texas Sun, a Texas family travel blog.
