Stanford Freshman Safety Brandon Simmons

It hasn't been long since Mansfield Timberview High School football said goodbye to their latest graduating class and with it highly recruited Safety Brandon Simmons. Just yesterday Simmons was featured in Stanford Football's Meet the Cardinal series.

Simmons had offers to play at schools ranging from USC to Washington and from Notre Dame to Ohio state and dozens more but settled on Stanford. According to the Meet the Cardinal article Simmons said, “Before we moved to Texas, my dad seeded in me that a good place to play would be Stanford. Throughout high school, Stanford was always one of the top schools that I wanted to go to.”

Simmons was was a member of the National Honor Society, a member of the Student Athletic Leadership Council all four years in high school, and volunteered locally. For those of you interested in his recruiting activity you can see his profile at http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/167365/brandon-simmons
