This is the second year for the Fire Safety Palooza, much of the event will take place in the parking lot of the Mansfield ISD Center for the Performing Arts. Students in Mansfield ISD took home more than 30,000 flyers last week and organizers are expecting some 4,000-5,000 attendees this weekend.

The Star Telegram reports, "Among the new features this year is a “live burn trailer” with two rooms to demonstrate how much faster a room with no sprinklers will burn than a room equipped with them. The two rooms will be set up with old couches and other furniture, which will be lit.

'The side that’s not sprinkled, we’ll let it burn for about eight minutes so you can see how fast a large fire grows,' [firefighter Phillip] Baker said."

There'll be plenty of fun things for the whole family to see and enjoy.
