Girls Inc. of Tarrant County celebrated the
Day of the Girl Celebration on Oct. 10 with a march on Main Street followed by a rally on the square. Groups of women from corporate affinity groups, networking groups, clubs, professional organizations, churches, and other affiliations joined together in support of the Girls Inc. mission to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold.

Event co-chairs, Jennifer Carter and Shivaun Palmer were happy with the turnout.

“It was a great day and I am so proud to be a part of Girls Inc. of Tarrant County” said Jennifer Carter, president of Talem, Inc. and incoming Girls Inc. of Tarrant County board chair.

“What a signature event for the agency!” Shivaun Palmer, CEO and Co-Founder of Plaid for Women said.

More than 600 participants walked from the Fort Worth Convention Center to the County Courthouse where a proclamation for the day was read by Mayor Betsy Price. Following the reading of the proclamation there was a rally in Sundance Square presented by influential women in the community. Event emcee MaryAnn Means introduced the speakers, each one focusing on the Girls Inc. Bill of Rights. (see gallery for more information).
