Legacy Cross Country Runners Head to State Competition

Two local students placed in the regional cross country competition and will now move on to the state competition, according to an announcement sent in by Rosa Weith.

 Jake Weith, senior at Legacy High School - Mansfield, Texas with a time of 15:49 won fifth place. He also was the first runner from Legacy boys to go to state competition in 2013. He eventually placed 21st in states. 

Weith also broke the school record in 2014 and plans to finish in the top 10 this year at the state competition. 

Catherine Richardson, a sophomore at Legacy, earned 20th place with a time of 19:34
. Last year she went to the state competition with the girls cross country team. She will go solo in 2014.

"Big Congratulations to the girls [cross country] team and Beau Billings (senior) for doing your best at Regionals!" Rosa said. "Good luck to Jake and Catherine at State! Kudos to Coach [Lacy] Beckler and Coach [David] Walden!"
