Timberview, Summit, Lake Ridge Advance in State Tournament

Mansfield area schools went 3-1 in postseason action. Click the name of the school below to view more sports and scores.

Mansfield High School
The Tigers' continued playoff hopes were thwarted by nationally ranked Southlake Carroll after a late-game comeback. The final score was 38-31. Mansfield finishes the season with a 7-4 record. They went 4-2 in the district.

Mansfield Legacy High School
The Broncos finished the season at 4-6 overall with a 2-5 district record.

Mansfield Timberview High School
The Wolves dominated Seagoville on Thursday night, 56-6, advancing to the area round of the state tournament. Seagoville scored first in the opening quarter, but Timberview went on a shred, scoring 56 unanswered points. The Wolves are now 10-1 on the season and 7-0 in the district. They take on Ennis on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. at Vernon Newson Stadium in Mansfield.

Mansfield Summit High School
The Jaguars defeated Spruce on Thursday night, 56-15, advancing to the area round of the state tournament. Junior quarterback Lane Schwab threw for 141 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 27 yards and a touchdown. Summit is 7-4 this year and 5-2 in the district. They face Tyler next on Friday at 7:30 p.m. in Rockwell.

Mansfield Lake Ridge High School
The Eagles took down Kimball on Friday night, 42-17, advancing to the area round of the state tournament. Junior quarterback Jett Duffey went 12/23 for 189 yards and two touchdowns in the air, and rushed for 96 yards on five carries. Junior Duke Carter busted one open of 100+ yards in his 24 attempts. He totaled 191 yards on the day and two touchdowns. Lake Ridge is 7-4 overall and 4-3 in the district. They take on Longview on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Tyler Rose Stadium.
