Find Your 2014 Christmas Tree at One of These 5 Mansfield-Area Spots

Each year, families in Texas trek through beautiful local fields and farms to find that perfect Christmas tree - the one that is going to top last year's selection and provide an experience to remember for many years to come. 

In light of the thought of these precious moments, we compiled a guide for readers to find new places to get that perfect tree, or reminisce family traditions from years past.

4D Farm - Weatherford, TX

Distance from Mansfield: 55 minutes, or 49 miles.


"Pack the whole family into the car and come on out to 4D Farm. Here you can choose from several varieties and cut down your own special holiday tree. You don't have to bring a thing. We supply everything you'll need, from the saw to the tie down string. And if you want, we can even cut it down for you so you won't have to lift a finger. When you're done, or while you're waiting, hop on the back of the tractor for a holiday hayride or sit back and relax in our heated Country Store while sipping hot apple cider and eating delicious holiday cookies," according to its website.

Hours are: Saturday: 9-4, Sunday: 1-4; Call 817-313-2914 for an appointment.

The Lazy K Christmas Trees and Quilts - Godley, TX

Distance from Mansfield: 45 minutes, or 31 miles.


The farm grows Eldarica Pines, Leyland Cypress and Arizona Cypress. It also sells quilted items suitable for gifts or decorations. Opens for the season at the end of November each year, Saturdays at 10 a.m., Sundays at noon, weekdays at 3 p.m. Closes at dusk each day. 

Flower Mound Christmas Trees - Flower Mound, TX

Distance from Mansfield: 52 minutes, or 43 miles.


This Flower Mound farm has thousands of pre-cut trees to choose from, even the hard to find 16' tall Christmas trees. There are seven different varieties, both natural and flocked. Bring your tree stand with you and the staff will even help trim down the trunk to fit. Offers Douglas Fir, Fraser Fir, Noble Fir, Grand Fir, Nordmann Fir, Concolor Fir, and flocked. They also sell Fresh Door Wreaths, Candy Canes, Crosses and Mantel Sprays. Open Nov. 28 through Christmas, daily (weekdays, 1 - 8 p.m., weekends 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.).

Haynie’s Green Acres Christmas Tree Farm - Crowley, TX

Distance from Mansfield: 31 minutes, or 18 miles.


Opening the day after Thanksgiving every year, hours are 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on the weekends, and 2 - 5:30 p.m. on weekdays. Custom-flocked trees available for order. Fraser Firs and Virginia Pines available. Free hayrides and picnic area for you to bring your lunch and enjoy with your family. Wreaths for sale. Gift shop has a fireplace and complimentary hot cider and coffee.

Sunset Hill Tree Farm - Alvarado, TX

Distance from Mansfield: 32 minutes, or 22 miles.


"It will be several years before the new seedlings are mature enough to sell, but as usual we will have a large selection of our beautiful, fresh, pre-cut Fraser Firs from North Carolina. We also have a brand new kids' area that you and your little ones are going to love," according to the website.

The farm accepts Visa and Mastercard. The country store is open on weekends from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Fresh wreaths available.
