Summit Hoops Picks Up 4 Wins Last Week

Mansfield Summit High School
Mansfield area boys teams went 6-4 last week, and the girls teams also went 6-4. Click the name of the school below to view more sports and scores.
Mansfield High School
The Tigers went 0-2 last week. On Tuesday, Southlake Carroll came to town and took down Mansfield, 48-45. The Tigers trailed by 9 points at the half, but came back and almost won it, outscoring the Dragons in each of the final two frames, but it wasn't enough. Landon Strawn led Mansfield in scoring with 16 points. On Friday, the Tigers hit the road to face Duncanville, and came away with a 75-42 loss. Mo Handy led the way in scoring for the Tigers with 15 points in defeat. Mansfield is 3-8 this season with an 0-1 district record. Up next is an away game against Arlington today.
Mansfield defeated Midlothian on Tuesday, 41-36, and lost to Duncanville on Friday, 81-37. Ki'Asha Harris led the Tigers in scoring with 14 points against Midlothian. Lindsey Wurm tied for a game-high 14 points in the Duncanville loss. They host the Mansfield Invitational on Dec. 29. Mansfield is 4-10 this year, and 1-2 in the district.
Mansfield Legacy High School
The Broncos went 1-1 last week, first defeating Ennis, 54-47, on Tuesday night. Trailing after three quarters, Legacy outscored the opponent 20-11 in the final frame to take the win. Tanner Neufeldt and Nick Stanley led all scorers with 9 points each. The Broncos then fell to Red Oak on Friday night, 46-41. Neufeldt again led all scorers, this time with 14 points. The Broncos are now 4-4 with a 1-1 district record. They host Mansfield Summit tonight at 8 p.m.
Legacy routed Ennis, 63-38, on Tuesday, and followed up with a tight loss to Red Oak on Friday, 59-55. Grace Daniels led all scorers with 22 points in the Ennis win. Bethany Ross and Kala Jones combined for an additional 25 points. Daniels tied for a game-high 24 points in Friday night's loss. The Broncos are 6-3 and 2-2 in the district, and face Summit tonight at 6:30 p.m. on the home court.
Mansfield Timberview High School
The Wolves picked up two nail-biter wins last week, defeating Seguin on Tuesday, 43-41, and Waxahachie on Friday, 43-42. In Tuesday's game, Timberview trailed after three quarters, but outscored Seguin, 13-8, in the fourth. Jokwan Bagby scored a team-high 9 points. On Friday, they trailed again after three, but outscored Waxahachie by four points in the final frame. Bagby again led the Wolves in scoring with 16 points. Timberview is 8-3 overall and 2-1 in the district. Next, they travel to face Lake Ridge this afternoon at 4 p.m. The Wolves are 8-3 and 2-1 in the district.
Seguin defeated Timberview on Tuesday, 66-44. It was a close game until the final frame, when Seguin pulled away. Trelynn Tyler tied for a game-high 24 points in defeat. On Friday, the Wolves took down Waxahachie, 53-36. Ugo Nwarie led the team in scoring with 14 points. The Wolves are 9-5 this season and 3-1 in the district. Up next, they play Lake Ridge on the road tonight at 6:30 p.m.
Mansfield Summit High School
The Jaguars went 2-0 last week, defeating Waxahachie, 56-47, on Tuesday, and edging Lake Ridge, 76-74, on Friday. Summit held the lead at the end of each frame in Friday's game, and despite a strong scoring effort by the Eagles in the fourth quarter, the Jaguars still came out on top. Lovell Cabbil led all scorers with 27 points. Curtis Hollis, Terrance Hubby and Keilyn Nance also scored in the double digits for the Jaguars with 13, 12 and 10 points, respectively. They take on Legacy tonight at 8 p.m. in an away matchup. The Jaguars are 6-0 and 2-0 in the district.
Summit picked up two wins last week, defeating Waxahachie on Tuesday, 51-30, and Lake Ridge on Friday, 55-30. Nia Jackson led all scorers against Waxahachie with 15 points. Taylor Jones added 11 and Khadijah Kelly scored 10. Jackson topped the scoring chart again on Friday with 13 points. Kiera Robinson added 10. The Jaguars are 11-6 this season with a 2-3 district record. Next, they hit the road to face Legacy tonight at 6:30 p.m.
Mansfield Lake Ridge High School
The Eagles routed Red Oak on Tuesday, 76-53. Mike Adewunmi scored a team-high 13 points. Isaak Rowe and Ryan Woolridge each scored 19 points in Friday's loss to Summit. Up next is a home game against Timberview at 4 p.m. tonight. The Eagles are 6-2 and 1-1 in the district.
Lake Ridge defeated Red Oak on Tuesday, 43-28. Kristian DeWitt scored a game-high 29 points. She led the Eagles in scoring with 11 points in Friday night's 55-30 loss to Summit. The Eagles are 6-8 this year and 2-2 in the district. They host Timberview tonight at 6:30 p.m.
