Children, families, teachers, cities, towns, and parks are gearing up for this year’s Kids to Parks Day (KTP), a nation-wide day of outdoor play organized by National Park Trust (NPT) in cooperation with a host of local and national collaborators.
Bark in the Park features pet registration (required in Kennedale), vendor booths, a caricature artist, and low-cost vaccines from the Texas Coalition for Animal Protection (until noon).
TCAP will provide low-cost vaccines from 10 a.m. to noon.
KIDFISH (begins at 9 a.m.) is a youth outreach program dedicated to facilitating and educating a new generation of outdoor enthusiasts. Bring your kids or grandchildren, and try your hand at fishing in the Sonora pond! Poles will be available to borrow if you don’t have one.
This is a great opportunity to spend some time in the great outdoors, meet some new people, and see all that the park has to offer! The splash pad will be open!
Contact Dianna Garcia at 817-985-2160 (x2227) for more information or to reserve a free vendor space.
NPT is encouraging children across the country to explore their neighborhood parks and discover science, history, nature and adventure right around the corner or just across town. Our website can help jumpstart your adventure. For more information, visit kidstoparks.org
Pledge to take your kids to Sonora Park on May 16, and you'll be entered
to win a Nikon COOLPIX L830 camera from the National Park Trust
