Senior Activities Guide, Summer 2015

In our May-June 2015 issue, we featured Suzanne Newman, senior coordinator at the Mansfield Parks and Recreation department. Newman spends her professional life reaching out to local seniors, and has done so here in Mansfield since 1998.

In light of our latest community profile, we wanted to show you some local senior events and activities.

Mansfield Activities Center

Below is the daily schedule, according to the center's Senior Lifestyles brochure.

MONDAY

TUESDAY

  • 11:30 Devotional Singing

WEDNESDAY

  • 9:00 Walk & Talk, Art, Pinochle, Dominoes 
  • 10:00 Choir Group 
  • 11:00 Light & Easy Exercise 
  • 11:30 Bingo

  • 12:30 Beginner Line Dancing

  • 9:30 Walmart Shopping Trip 
  • 11:00 Light & Easy Exercise

  • 1:00 Mahjong

FRIDAY

  • 9:00 Walk & Talk, Pinochle, Dominoes 
  • 10:00 Zumba Gold

Upcoming Events

  • FATHER & SON DAY AT LAKE ARLINGTON- SATURDAY, MAY 16, Lake Arlington, 6300 W. Arkansas Lane, 10 a.m. to noon. Create memories with your son at the City of Arlington's Father & Son Day at Lake Arlington. Take a boat ride on the lake together, watch your son catch his first fish or shoot his first bulls-eye. With so much fun to have, you won't know where to go next! The event will include archery, fishing, kayaking, hot dogs, a boat ride on Lake Arlington and more. $10 per person.

  • JUNETEENTH 2015- FRIDAY, JUNE 19, Resource Connection Campus Gym, 2300 Circle Drive, Fort Worth. 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Breakfast served at 9:15, lunch at noon. Lunch menu includes barbecue chopped beef, ranch style beans, cole slaw, watermelon, tea and Big Red soda. Music by DJ Bobbi Bonilla. Special performance by Joyce Spencer Saxophonist & vocalist.
