The Rain is Gone and Outdoor Meetups are Back in Season

Jun 03, 2015 04:08PM ● By Dawn Craig

Around Arlington Meetup members enjoyed the start of May with a Bicycle Ride at River Legacy Park. Then members cooled off at a Cinco de May Happy Hour at Fuzzy’s Tacos. We celebrated Cinco de Mayo again at our monthly Blue Mesa happy hour on the patio.

Despite all of the rain, dinner events were popular in May. For our Piranha Sushi Happy Hour, the sun came out just in time. Dinner & Happy Hour at BFF Asian Grill was delicious and well attended. Plus we checked out the delicious and authentic Mexican food at the new La Casa Blue in UTA’s College Park.

Women, Wealth & Wellness of DFW was held at On the Border. Warrior Goddess Training was the topic at this monthly event which supports, educates, and mentors women.

Some singles in attended two Speed Dating events, one for 20s & 30s, and another for 30s & 40s at Sherlock’s in Lincoln Square.

Community service events this month includes the US Post Office’s Stamp Out Hunger food drive, a comedy night, LOL for a Cause: Benefiting Boys and Girls Clubs of Arlington, and a fundraising happy hour at Buffalo Wild Wings to raise funds for the Covert Operations team walking in the Susan G Komen 3-Day again this year.

On a beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon, after the 4th Annual Veteran’s Benefit Ride with Spirit of a Hero left Longhorn Harley Davidson in Grand Prairie, we stayed to hear the Stoneleighs, A Rolling Stones Tribute Band. We listened to Spoonfed Tribe at South Street Patio. Weather moved this concert indoors from Levitt Pavilion.

We ended the month of May on a tasty note with delicious Coffee and Crepes at Savor Coffee Bar.
