MHS Alum Yates Turns Pro, Performing Well

Greg Yates has officially played two tournaments at the PGA level over the course of the past month. A graduate of Mansfield High School, Yates just finished up his career at Texas A&M and joined the professional golfing ranks in late May.
Reader Gerald D. Griffith reported Yates placed high in the Victoria open, then qualified for the Greater Dallas Open with a score 63 (9 under par). He then proceeded to tie for second place, shooting a four-day total of 21 under par.
The Golf Channel's website reports Yates also participated in the Rust-Oleum Championship, , placing 68th at 1 under par. For his profile, click here.
