Highway 360 Expansion Expected to Have Late 2017 Completion

The Mansfield Chamber of Commerce, a representative on the HWY 360 extension and future development committee, was recently given an update at its last Board Meeting concerning the completion of the project.

"In summary, the contract for construction should be completed this fall and the estimated time frame for substantial completion is late 2017," executive vice president Monty Goddard said in an email. "This will be a great enhancement to  Mansfield and the surrounding communities and will positively impact business and residential growth. Hopefully this will be useful information to you."

According to the Texas Department of Transportation, "
The Texas Transportation Commission has approved Proposition 1 funding toward the new $254 million direct connect I-30/SH 360 interchange project. In fall 2015, TxDOT will award the project to a contractor, with construction beginning soon after.

"The project will provide a fully directional interchange at I-30 and SH 360 and will include the reconstruction and widening of the Six Flags Drive bridge over I-30 from two lanes to five lanes (three southbound lanes and two northbound lanes). The bridge will improve access to Six Flags Over Texas and the greater commercial area by extending Six Flags Drive north to Avenue H."
