According to Islesboro, Maine police and the Penobscot Bay Pilot, Elizabeth Hogue, 19 of Mansfield, didn't learn her lesson. After receiving an alleged summons for speeding on July 23 from Officer Nickolas Von Husen, Hogue was involved in a motor vehicle accident the following day.

Public safety director Fred Porter responded to the incident on July 24, finding that the car was totaled, but all passengers were unharmed. The incident occurred on Pendleton Point Road and the vehicle was found to have hit a tree.

"At the conclusion of the investigation Porter issued her a summons for failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle," the Bay Pilot reported.
