Joel Thetford, born and raised in the Metroplex, a former professional bull rider, is now taking his talents to the stage, as he begins his music career. Thetford is releasing his new album, "Here I Go," with a friend's help, according to The Portland Phoenix.

The album will make its official debut at a performance at Portland House of Music & Events in Maine on Saturday night.
Carleigh Nesbit opens the show, followed by Chris Ross & The North, a breakout band from Bangor (Maine). Then Thetford, who moved to Maine from Fort Worth, Texas, 10 years ago, takes the stage, according to the story, which appeared in the Phoenix on Sept. 2.

Here I Go is the name of the fresh press, with five strong songs that give a hint of what’s to come. The album was produced by friend and roommate, Will Mallett of The Mallett Brothers Band," the story says.

Thetford's bull riding career started right here in Mansfield at the Kowbell (now
Legacy High School), when a friend told him he should try the sport. After riding amateur for a bit, he decided to go professional.
