Dr. Karen Furman, Deputy Superintendent of the Kennedale ISD gave a "tremendously interesting and informative" report to Kennedale Chamber of Commerce members at the recent August luncheon. The presentation detailed the state of our local schools, according to a newsletter sent out by the chamber.

"The good news?" the newsletter said. "It's pretty great! KISD is meeting or exceeding all rating standards, despite constantly changing criteria from the state."

One quality highlighted in Furman's presentation is that the district is highly sought after for employment, hiring less than 3% of the applicants for this year's open positions. Athletically, last year was the most successful in school history, including the athletic director named as 4-A Coach of the Year for the entire state.

"Best of all, great new things on the horizon for the Wildcats, and our district is prepared.. and excited!" the newsletter said. "Hopefully all of our members are too.. great schools drive great residents to the area, growing the customer base for everyone!"

Richard Sherman, Sherman Accounting and Tax Services, sponsored the luncheon, catered by Mr. Jim's Pizza - Mansfield, Texas.
