Mommy Makeover – What’s Your Excuse?

Summer is over and the kids are back to school, so now is the time to consider undergoing cosmetic breast enhancement and tummy restoration with a “Mommy Makeover” procedure.
Due to the physical strain of pregnancy, a Mommy Makeover procedure is designed to simultaneously restore and rejuvenate your breasts and tummy at the same time, by combining a tummy tuck with breast enhancement / rejuvenation surgery — either a breast lift, breast augmentation, or breast reduction.
Following pregnancy, you may notice a “pooch" or weakening of your abdomen muscles along with the development of stretch marks and loose skin. In addition, your breasts may undergo size changes due to prolonged breast-feeding followed by breast deflation.
The extent of the Mommy Makeover procedure is directly related to the amount of skin excess, belly fat and weakness of your abdominal muscles. Circumstances where there is minimal muscle weakness or minimal skin excess, a mini tummy tuck may be recommended. However, most women will require a standard abdominoplasty with or without the addition of liposuction to aesthetically contour the hips and flanks. Furthermore, cosmetic breast restoration is accomplished with either breast augmentation, breast lift, combination breast augmentation with breast lift or breast reduction.
Both tummy tuck and breast restoration procedures are performed under general anesthesia and are performed in an outpatient setting. On average, both tummy tuck and breast enhancement can be performed at the same time as a single-staged operation. However, more complex figure distortions may require a two-stage operation and this determination will be made on an individual basis.
