For the second year in a row, Mansfield ISD has been awarded the highest recognition from two organizations for its commitment to financial responsibility and transparency.
MISD received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). The district also received the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting award from the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO). The awards were given for MISD’s 2014 comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR).
The recognitions represent a significant accomplishment of an entity and its management. The awards are GFOA’s and ASBO’s highest forms of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.
“It is a great honor to be awarded with the prestigious financial certificates by the GFOA and ASBO for the second consecutive year. Ensuring that we as a district remain financially responsible and transparent with our expenditures is what our department strives to do every day,” said Dr. Karen Wiesman, Associate Superintendent of Business and Finance.
Dr. Wiesman will be commended for the awards at one of MISD’s future Regular Board Meetings.
