Mansfield has been ranked by Money Magazine as one of the Best Places to Live in America in 2007, 2009, 2012 and 2014. Not surprisingly, this is in large part due to the excellent way of life, great schools, and now advancement opportunities with the construction of a new H-E-B supermarket complex, set to begin by 2019.

This 80,000-106,000 square-foot HEB complex has a planned location of on the Southeast corner of East Broad Street at US 287. This approval happened Monday night by the Mansfield City Council.

In his statement at the approval, Mayor David Cook said, "“This project represents another clear indication of how Mansfield is living up to its ‘best places to live’ designation. The caliber of commercial and residential projects coming to our city is among the best. From the redevelopment in the Historic Downtown to the entertainment venues and retail looking to build here, this is an exciting time to be in Mansfield.”

Plans are expected to eventually include a series of restaurants.
