Historic Downtown Mansfield has had people working tirelessly to reinvent and revitalize for quite some time. The primary focus has been on creating new restaurants, shops, and living spaces. However, a new project was approved that involves Pond Branch creek as the main focus.

Pond Branch creek is a small creek that runs through Historic Downtown, and the plans for the new trail are based around this creek.

The ultimate goal is to create a trail that connects to other local, award-winning parks such as the Walnut Creek linear trails at Town Park and Katherine Rose Memorial Park.

Pond Branch Linear Park, as it is to be called, is meant to lead through and to Historic Main Street. Construction is set to go in phases throughout the year, beginning this fall, and most likely into next year.
