Warning for Mansfield: Scam Alert for Businesses in the MISD Area

Sep 13, 2016 12:44PM ● By Melanie Heisinger
We have hit our second wave of scams targeting businesses in the Mansfield ISD area. This is a warning to potential victims.
The first wave happened in August, a company saying they are working with Mansfield Independent School District selling ads on T-shirts to be thrown out at the high school football games with proceeds to help the athletics booster club. Duped customers gave money, but did not get the promotions they were promised. The business was not legit and cost several small businesses a good deal of money. They sounded official, threw out names of familiar coaches and were very personable, but again, they left the customer with nothing.
They have hit again, this time promising banners, cups and T-shirts to be given away at the MISD football, basketball and baseball games.   I have heard that another Mansfield small business just paid over $1,000 and is devastated that they were misled by a fraudulent company promising advertising with Mansfield ISD athletic facilities.

If you are in question always contact the MISD.
