The LOT Downtown Raises Money for Mansfield Officer Injured in the Line of Duty

Last month, The LOT Downtown raised money with a Benefit Concert for a local Mansfield resident injured in the line of duty. It was presented at a Mansfield City Council Meeting.

Long-time Mansfield resident and 15-year veteran of the Dallas Police Department, Senior Corporal Ivan Saldana was recognized at the September 12 Mansfield City Council meeting at 7:00 pm with surprise donation.  

The July 31 #AreWeRelated? Community Benefit Concert, headlined by David Moore & The Moore Melodies, raised $11,853.84. Saldana was injured in the line of duty on July 7, 2016 during the tragic shooting of Dallas police officers.

The benefit concert was hosted by The LOT DowntownBethlehem Baptist ChurchCreekwood ChurchFirst Methodist Mansfield, Koinonia Christian Church and The Community at Lake Ridge. Mayor David Cook addressed the gathering of community supporters with a proclamation recognizing Senior Corporal Ivan Saldana.  Using music as a platform, The LOT Downtown hosted this event to bring the community together – all people, all ages, all neighborhoods, all faiths – gathered in one expression of hope, love and unity.

The Live Outdoor Theater Downtown represents a unique public/private partnership and culmination of three years of planning to create a facility which will serve as an anchor for live music, theater performances, and a concert series for the residents of Mansfield and surrounding communities.
