2016 Mansfield-Area Pumpkin Patch & Fall Events Guide

Now that the leaves have started to turn, and pumpkin spice seems to have creeped into everything, fall is finally in full swing. The beginning of the holiday season is an exciting time, and a great time for family activities.

Pumpkin-picking is a fun way to start off the season right. We've compiled a list of pumpkin patches and exciting events in our coverage areas for your consideration. Happy picking! 


Pumpkin Patches


St. John Lutheran Church

Location: 1218 E Debbie Ln, Mansfield, Texas 76063

The St. John Youth Pumpkin Patch has hundreds of pumpkins and lots of photo op spots. They also proudly sell specialty pumpkins!

They are open Monday - Friday 2-9pm, Saturday 8am-9pm, and Sunday 9am-7pm.

Country Critters Farm

Location: 3709 County Rd 617, Alvarado, TX 76009

Country Critters Farm offers a unique and memorable experience for adults and children
alike. Pumpkin patch begins September 24th and runs through November 6th. They will be open on weekends from 10 am to 5 pm, gates close at 4 pm, open weekdays for field trips by reservation only. 

Activities include:  Bounce houses, tractor and train playground, petting zoo, pony ride (weekends only), new barrel train, hay ride, wooden maze, storyteller, duck races (ducks are $1), stuff the scarecrow and other game areas.  At the storyteller kids will get a cookie and apple juice while listening to a great story, parents are offered a piece of home made pumpkin bread.  Each paying child will get to pick a pie size pumpkin from the patch and get to decorate it with markers. Weekend admission is $12 per child and $10 per adult, kids 2 and under are free.

Hall's Pumpkin Farm & Corn Maze

Family farm since 1920's, now open in October for Corn Maze, Pumpkins, Farm Animals, Hayrides, Hay House, Hay Maze, Pedal Tractors & fun for all ages.

They’ve got pumpkins of all shapes and sizes, gourds, hay bales and corn stalks galore! Their amazing Corn Maze is always an adventure. Located in historic Grapevine - their farm is nestled between Dallas and Ft. Worth, just west of DFW airport.

St. John the Apostle United Methodist Church

The SJA Pumpkin Patch is open October 2nd - 31st from 10am-8pm. They are always looking for volunteers as well, so feel free to visit their website and consider volunteering! 


Mainstay Farm

Mainstay Farm and HAYMARKET holds its annual “Family Pumpkin Days” on SATURDAYS & SUNDAYS. On Family Pumpkin Days, we do not give out a pumpkin with admission. Pumpkins are available for purchase.

Open every weekend in October. Saturdays 11am to 5pm. Sundays 12:30pm to 5pm. Ages 3 – 59 $14.00 ~ Seniors (60+) $12.00 ~ 2 and under are free. Visit their website for more information. 

First Christian Church

The Pumpkin Patch at First Christian Church is a partnership between First Christian Church and Rush Creek Christian Church. Proceeds from the Pumpkin Patch supports youth service trips at each congregation. 

Open daily from 11 am until dusk.

The Pumpkin Patch features over 5,000 different pumpkins and gourds to choose from, a story time reading corner for  children, photo opportunities, games, decoration stickers, and fun activities for all ages.

Admission is free and the price for pumpkins and gourds depends on size. We do take large orders for businesses, please contact the church office for details.

The Pumpkin Patch is a great place for a family picnic, games and photo shoot. We welcome school and daycare trips to the Pumpkin Patch. Come and join us for some Autumn Fun!
