Mansfield ISD congratulates the two recipients who received the honor of being named the district’s 2017 Teachers of the Year.

The winners are Laurie Skaggs for Elementary Teacher of the Year and Douglas Arnold for Secondary Teacher of the Year.

Laurie Skaggs is a sixth grade math teacher at Mary Orr Intermediate School. She joined MISD in 2015 after originally teaching in both Oklahoma and Kansas. Skaggs was recognized for putting her students first and ensuring they not only succeed, but feel safe to do so.

Douglas Arnold teaches U.S. history, economics and government at Summit High School. Arnold joined MISD in 1997, and has a celebrated 23 year career as a teacher. He was recognized for his ability to encourage students through finding their strengths.

Congratulations to our all of our campus teachers of the year for their hard work and excellence in teaching and leadership.
