Video of a Mansfield Chiropractor's Car Seat Hack Goes Viral

Jul 20, 2017 05:58PM ● By Melanie Heisinger

Chiropractor Emily Puente demonstrates the differences between the typical way of carrying a car seat, left, and the healthier way.

Recently, a local Mansfield chiropractor, Dr. Emily Puente, created a YouTube video with a useful tip on carrying a carseat, and it quickly went viral.

This video was featured in articles on sites such the Huffington Post,, and Cosmopolitan, just to name a few.

Puente is a chiropractor with Bridge Family Chiropractic in Mansfield, Texas. She noted that car seats could be carried in a different, easier way. However, she made sure to note that it might not be effective for all car seats due to the wide variety of options out there.

In her video, she explains that the way that she learned to hold her own child's carseat relieves tension off the shoulders and hips and makes carrying around the car seat much more effortless, especially for moms who are freshly postpartum.

Most car seats are held in the crook of the arm, like a purse. This can cause discomfort and misalignment.

Puente was shown this technique by a friend of hers, and was floored. It was then that she decided to try it herself, which led to the creation of her video.

Watch the full video below to learn the full technique. Puente urges to make sure you are comfortable no matter what, it might not work for everyone!
