The City of Mansfield maintains an Environmental Collection Center to provide residents an avenue for recycling and for the collection of household hazardous waste. The ECC also provides recycling for residents without curbside collection including residents of apartments and other multifamily dwellings. The center is located at 620 S. Wisteria St. at the Mansfield Service Center. The Environmental Collection Center is open the second Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Proof of residency is required to drop off materials. Contractors and businesses will be turned away.
HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE DISPOSAL
Residents may dispose of household hazardous waste such as aerosol cans, paint and cleaning products at the Environmental Collection Center on the second Saturday of each month, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Proof of residency is required.
Residents may dispose of electronic waste at the Environmental Collection Center on the second Saturday of each month, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Proof of residency is required.
SYRINGES AND MEDICATION DISPOSAL
Improper disposal of used syringes or "sharps" and medication can have harmful impacts on the sanitation workers that service our community and our local natural resources. Syringes can cause injury or infection to the workers handling our waste. Medications flushed down the toilet or dumped down the storm drain pollute our rivers and lakes which serve as drinking water resources and wildlife habitat.
The Environmental Collection Center and the Keep Mansfield Beautiful Commission sponsor Beautification Days twice each year – spring and fall. On those days residents can dispose of bulky items that cannot be left at the curb for regular trash collection.
The Environmental Collection Center will maintain a Reuse Store to make available free of charge used paint, cleaners and other chemicals brought to the center in like new condition. The availability of materials for reuse is not guaranteed. If you have a product that is still usable, give it to someone who can use it instead of bringing it for disposal.
