Methodist Mansfield Medical Center and Carter Blood Care will host a blood drive for victims of tragedies including the fertilizer plant explosion in West, Texas on Friday, April 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. inside classrooms A&B at the hospital. Methodist Mansfield is located at 2700 East Broad Street in Mansfield.
Tragic events like the West Texas explosion, bus incident on IH 161, and Boston Marathon reinforce the need for blood to save lives in our community. Appointments are recommended, but walk-ins are welcome. To schedule an appointment go to carterbloodcare.org and click on donate blood tab, then click on community blood drives, then click search by name and enter Methodist Mansfield to register.
To donate blood, participants will need to show proof of identification. Donors must be age 17 or older, although those younger than age 17 may donate with parental consent. Donors must weigh at least 110 pounds.
