Grand Prairie Farmers Market Opening Day
Come out to visit with and shop a wide variety of fresh and local vendors.
On Saturday, April 7 the popular Grand Prairie Farmers Market at 120 W Main St. will officially re-open for the 2018 season. Come out to visit with and shop a wide variety of fresh and local vendors. The Farmers Market Community Stage will be animated throughout the day with an exciting assortment of local performance groups. The brand-new Epic Radio station will do a live remote broadcast complete with giveaways from 10:00 a.m. – noon as well.
At the same location, join Mayor Ron Jensen for the Get Fit Mayor’s “No Frills” 5K and Chase the Chiefs 1-Mile Fun Run through downtown Grand Prairie. The Fun Run will begin at 8:15 a.m. and the 5K at 8:45 a.m. All race participants and spectators are invited to stay after the race for a health fair and kids’ zone. The Get Fit 5K Run/Walk is sponsored by the Get Fit GP wellness program. This is a fun, “no frills” event with no race numbers and no cost to enter. No pre-registration is necessary to participate in the run/walk, but optional Dri-Fit shirts with the event logo are available for $10 for adults and $5 for kids. Shirts can be reserved online at gptx.org/getfitgp or in person Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Environmental Quality Building, 206 W Church St.
