Beginner Birding Workshop and Bird Walk

with Master Birder Walt Birk

  • 8:00 am Class at City of Kennedale Municipal Building (RSVP)
  • 8:30 am Bird Walk at SWNP
Classroom topics include:
  • bird anatomy as it pertains to field identification.
  • Types of birds common to this region in this season
  • Basic ecology, habitat associations, and behaviors.
Those NOT attending the classroom discussion can join the bird walk at 8:30am by meeting in the preserve's parking lot.

FREE...All levels of interest and experience welcome. Bring binoculars. Classroom seating is limited to 12 participants.

The event is jointly sponsored by Friends of Southwest Nature Preserve and the City of Kennedale. Southwest Nature Preserve is part of the City of Arlington park system.
