19th ANNUAL ARLINGTON FAMILY EXPO IS SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 21, 2015 Theme: Promoting Strong and Healthy Families ARLINGTON, TX _ “Promoting Strong and Healthy Families ” is the theme of the 2015 Family Expo coming Saturday, February 21st , at Tarrant County College – Southeast Campus, located at 2100 Southeast Parkway, Arlington, TX 76018. Now in its 19th year, this free, family-friendly event provides valuable resources to families in and around Arlington and Tarrant County. It is sponsored by the Xi Theta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the Arlington Foundation for Excellence in Education, in partnership with Tarrant County College. Educational workshops will allow participants of all ages to learn and discover new ways to maintain and improve their overall health and financial awareness. Younger children will be entertained by age-appropriate activities. Teen activities will feature interactive seminars that highlight health and financial planning. This event will also include a comprehensive health fair with budgeting and financial empowerment workshops for adults. Exhibitors will be onsite to educate and promote healthy life styles, financial planning and other community services. Registered participants will receive complimentary breakfast, lunch and be eligible for prizes. This event will also feature live musical entertainment and the 2015 Community Awards for Woman of the Year, Media and Business Leader of Excellence. There’s still time for vendors to get involved. The Arlington Foundation of Excellence in Education was formed in 2004 by members of the Xi Theta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. to increase its educational commitments to the community.
